OUR CITROËN

Parked in the front garden of The High Line Hotel, our vintage 1963 Citroën H-Van is a fan favorite among neighbors and guests of the hotel.

The H-Van originally served as a furniture delivery vehicle in Jouillat in the south of France for 50 years before being re-purposed into a “mobile coffee shop”. Before making its way to New York City, the H-Van journeyed from France to London and then sailed across the Atlantic Ocean from the Port of Southampton (London) to the Port of Newark (New Jersey) via the Wallenius Wilhelmsen RORO (Roll-on, Roll-off) carrier.

The H-Van’s cargo space was retrofitted with 3,000lbs worth of the latest coffee-making equipment and painted in signature 1960s-era British Racing Green before embarking on the final leg of its journey through New Jersey across the Pulaski Skyway and into New York through the Holland Tunnel, finally arriving at its home at The High Line Hotel in Chelsea, Manhattan.
